Easy & quick operation via touchscreen or multifunction buttons

The colorful, centrally located 5" touch screen makes it easy to find a beautiful decorative stitch or the desired embroidery design and optimize the thread tension. Use the multi-function buttons to quickly change stitch length or width and position an embroidery design. Sewing and embroidery tutorials give you valuable tips on how to operate the machine and the sewing advisor recommends the best stitch for your fabric.

Plenty of space and light for your sewing projects

Keep an overview thanks to the four bright LEDs that illuminate the large sewing area of 230 mm to the right of the needle. The additional free-arm slide-on table makes large quilting and sewing projects even easier to handle.

Finishing fabrics with decorative and quilting stitches

Of course you can sew straight, zigzag, elastic stitches or buttonholes with the b79. In addition, it offers beautiful decorative and quilting stitches to enhance your sewing projects. Want to change an existing stitch or create a new one? It's all possible with the Stitch Designer. Your customized stitch is temporarily saved and you can store it in your personal memory for future projects.

Sewing function and automatic thread cutter

No need to sew backwards to secure the seam at the end, thanks to the tie-off function. Simply press the sew button and the end of the seam is automatically sewn. Then press the automatic thread cutter button and wham, the threads are gone and the seam is finished! Want it even faster? Then program these functions on the foot control with back-kick function - one press of the heel is enough.

Even more sewing comfort

The semi-automatic needle threader makes threading child's play - the presser foot automatically lowers to the correct position and the thread can be fixed in the side thread cutter for threading. You can sew even more comfortably with the knee lever, which raises and lowers the presser foot with knee pressure, leaving your hands free to guide the fabric. And the integrated, easy-to-activate Dual Feed ensures even feed of all materials.

Embroidery module with three hoops and hoop recognition

With three hoops included, you'll always have the right hoop for any size embroidery design. You can embroider designs up to 260 x 160 mm without rehooping. The hoops are easy to open and close thanks to a quick-release mechanism. And the automatic hoop recognition shows you the corresponding embroidery area on the touchscreen, so you can adjust your embroidery design to fit perfectly.

Creative variety of embroidery designs

Over 200 embroidery designs and 7 embroidery alphabets are already integrated. You can edit the designs on the touchscreen: rotate, mirror or combine them. You want more? Additional embroidery designs can be uploaded via USB stick, e.g. those you have edited and combined with the BERNINA Toolbox embroidery software. The b79 is compatible with most embroidery design formats - no more tedious conversion in embroidery software.

For optimal sewing and embroidery results

With the 7 mm stitch plate you can sew wonderful full width decorative stitches. The straight stitch plate, also included in the standard accessory pack, ensures optimal embroidery results. Your machine automatically recognizes the needle plate you are using and displays all the needles you can use. It also automatically adjusts the adjustable stitch width range.
